The Word and The Experience

“I believe God wants us to both experience His power and know His word…

Before we talk about the power, word and experience of Jesus, we first must understand its source… It was the desolate place… Getting alone with His Heavenly Father…

The deserted places is where He found His direction, not the crowds…

Don’t allow those that are not hungry to keep you from feeding those that at are hungry…

They believed in Him, but had no idea of the magnitude of who it was they were believing in… they had an intellectual relationship with Jesus, but need to experience a greater depth of His power…

Hearing His words, seeing His life inspired their faith (keep in mind they knew Him before this moment)… It inspired their faith to act in obedience, there obedience allowed them to see a miracle… Faithful obedience always precedes the miracles… (it’s not always faith by the recipient, but by someone…)

The nearer we get to God, the more we hear His word and experience His power, the more we’re aware of our sinfulness and unworthiness…

The main characteristic of His closest disciples was there willingness to put all else aside to follow Him… They were not bolder, smarter, more spiritual than others, they simply recognized something special about Jesus, and in faith followed Him… This was an unreserved, uncalculated surrender of all they were to Jesus…

And in God’s mercy this experience would be repeated… John 21… You may have experienced God in the past… you may have blown it, or feel like you missed it, or you got busy, etc… but right now you feel aimless and lost… God desires to re-establish you…

My God’s Word is true, and He still fills nets…”
