Fearless: My Refuge & My Fortress

“On the one hand, [the response is] understandable, but on the other hand it’s excessive… We can prepare without panicking…

The fear-contagion effect…

Whether it’s this or something else, this world seems to feed on fear… These are uncertain times; these have always been uncertain times…

There is a qualifier “He who dwells…” We’ve got to know Him first to know this peace…

Also notice the four names of God here point to His protection for the believer…
• “Most High” He is greater than any threat we face…
• “Almighty” He has the power to confront and destroy any enemy we may face…
• “Lord” (if we’re in Christ) He is the leader and master of our lives, He’s going to be with us and guide us…
• “My God” not ‘a’ God or ‘thee’ God, but MY God! God has a deeply personal relationship with us if we’ve put our faith in Him…

The more we dwell with Him, the more we know Him and His character, the less like we are to be deceived by the enemy… With his subtly and quickness… Our proximity to God will keep us from Satan’s traps…

For all God’s rigid strength His care is as tender as a mother bird covering her chicks under her soft down feathers…

That is the journey; we come to Christ, in this life we endure flack for that, but in the end we come out as “more than conquerors…”

As we are faithful to God and depend upon Him as our refuge in those times He has a way of redeeming our scares… It is the challenges and struggles that we face that make our stories accessible to others…

Wolves in sheep’s clothing, and people genuinely ignorant will misuse The Bible to attempt to persuade believers to do something they know is wrong or unwise…

So practically speaking: Be aware, be prepared, but don’t be controlled by fear… God will protect us, but He also desires wisdom on our part…

The key to receiving God’s protective care is a heart that is passionately committed to the Lord and grateful for everything He is and does… God knows who we are… he will be with us in times of trouble, he will hear our prayers, he will meet our needs, he will give us power to live full lives saturated in his presence…

“even if he should have but a few years, yet he shall have a long life; for life is measured by the life that is in it, not by the length along which it drags… he shall see God’s Salvation even here; and when he dies, he wakes up in the likeness of his Lord, he will see it to the full.”

My friends… Let us not live in fear… let us be wise, but not fearful… we are to be fearless if we are in Christ…”
