The Weight of Truth

“We live in a world that is so pluralistic that to say something is wrong can raise to the level of hate speech… This is why today there is a greater need of relationship to deliver truth…

Truth must be spoken lovingly… we can be right but wrong at the same time… right in truth and wrong in tone…

In the middle of all this ambiguity, God is calling us to be truth tellers…

It’s not simply truth to be truth, His truth saves us! God loves us enough to not let us die in ignorance…

The simple truth is God’s calling us to align our lives and wills to His word, not His word to align with our lives and wills…

God’s word is either true or it is not, there is no middle ground…

If we place ourselves above the word of God, and cherry pick the scriptures we like, and reject the ones we don’t… we take God off the throne, and place ourselves as the God of our life… and even to what the nature of truth is…

The place to truth can be lonely but the reward is great… “The cost of being God’s spokesperson is as high as the privilege is sweet”

Truth isn’t popular, never has been…

To speak God’s word means we have to share it without prejudice… everyone tends to love truth as long as it’s not their “ox that’s being gored”…

A life that is aggressively pursuing God, allowing His Holy Spirit to convict our hearts and bring us to regular repentance, can narrow that gap between the truth and our actions, not that we have to be perfect, but that every day we would more clearly live the testimony of Christ we know…

The weight of truth is this: There is one standard of truth that will hold up in eternity, and that’s found in the word of God… And we are all called to deliver that truth in love to a world that needs to know God… And as God delivers that truth from our lips… He equally desires that His truth would be delivered through our lives…

The great challenge for me as a believer is translating the truth I know in my head, to the way it’s carried out in my life…

So the question is simple for all of us when it comes to truth: will we allow God to be God, or place ourselves as God of our lives…

To those who believe, to those who have called upon the Lord and been saved…
• Will you commit yourself to know His word, to know His truth?
• Will you commit yourself to live His word, to live His truth?
• Will you commit yourself to share His word, to share His truth?”
