The Need of Fellowship (Joe)

“God’s calling us deeper relationships that move to our hearts, our souls, our core… friendships that are faithful, honorable, safe, and self-sacrificial…

Genuine friendship reflects worth and value… To take the time and energy to stimulate someone too good works, to gather together when it could cost you your life an persecution, to encourage one another in the midst of chaos all points to value and worth…

“No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other’s worth”

The Christian walk was not meant to be lived on an island… We must have a community of believers, not just people that go to church and then go home, to become all that God wants us to become… God wants to use us in Hays, and the deeper our community, the deeper our friendship, the greater He can empower us!

Sometimes one of the most spiritual acts, when you are most led by the Holy Spirit, is simply to have lunch with someone… Be an initiator, don’t wait for someone else to ask…

We as a church are not perfect in this… I as a person am not perfect in this… but churches like people are constantly walking through a sanctification process… I am sorry if we as a church have missed it with you… we are striving to do better…

Concerning Joe: “Each one of us will one day look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question… we are willing to help, Lord, but what, if anything, is needed?… it is true we can seldom help those who are closest to us… either we don’t know what part of ourselves to give, or more often than not the part we have to give is not wanted… and so it is those we live with an should know who elude us… but we can still love them… we can love them completely without complete understanding…”
