The Holy Spirit’s Overlooked and Obscure Gifts

“In this very isolated and lonely world, the gift of hospitality can powerfully draw people to Christ…

Celibacy is the gift to remain single and not to be overcome by sexual temptation, and refocusing the energy that would be devoted to a marriage relationship to God… and those that are single for a season can learn from the principles held within celibacy…

Paul said if possible it’s better to remain unmarried, whereas to dedicate all our attention to Christ and ministry… It’s not saying in order to have this gift that there is not desire(v37), only that the Holy Spirit has given them the self-control (in the Spirit) that they remain pure…

The point God is making is that if you’re single, don’t bemoan your singleness… Fill your life, undivided, with Him, live to the fullness God… we want to fill our lives up with another person, and God says, fill your life up with me…

Jesus lived life as a single…

Fill your life with Christ in your singleness, and trust that God knows what He’s doing in your romantic possibilities and follow Him…”
