“Be Clean”

“The leper should not have been there, and definitely should not have been that close to Jesus…

We need to ask ourselves a question: what’s the leprosy in our own predispositions… even closer to home, what is our own personal leprosy…

He knew that the only way to become clean was found in Jesus… He didn’t care if he should be there or not… We need that same sense of desperation in our personal leprosies; ‘I’m going to die if I stay here.’

Jewish thought was the unclean would make the clean unclean… Jesus reverses that, Jesus being clean made the unclean clean…

Our sin, our filthiest leprosy cannot make Jesus flinch, cannot make Him unclean… bring it on, the worst parts of you, and watch Him purify you with His love…

So He says to us, as He touches us in all our filth… “I will; be clean”

If God’s declared you clean take off those leper clothes and don’t put them on again… It’s time to put on our freedom clothes!”
