Marcus launched his music career early, at the age of three, by singing with his older sisters. Currently leading worship at New Life Center, Marcus shares his talent and his heart through music and worship every Sunday morning. He has been involved as a lay leader of worship music most of his adult life and says, “My goal is to provide theologically sound, meaningful, and expressive worship experiences in a multi-generational setting for God’s glory.” Along with his duties as our worship leader he serves as the churches administrative assistant.
Marcus is married to Janna, and has four adult children – Tanner, who is married to Beth, Bryce, married to Sarah, Hanna, married to David, and Mary, married to Chase. He is also thankful for his four wonderful grandchildren, Luke and Jaylee Bishop, Claire and Chloe Vogel.
With a Master’s Degree in music education, Marcus worked full-time as a music teacher in the Hays school district before his retirement from teaching. In his spare time, Marcus enjoys reading, tinkering in computer repair and home maintenance, playing piano, and spending time with his family.
Marcus says, “I rely on God for strength – one of my favorite verses is Luke 10:27, ‘He answered, love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, love your neighbor as yourself.’”
